11. Dingle Halbinsel / The Dingle Peninsular

Next day we drive around the more northern Dingle Peninsular, which we find even more impressive than the Ring of Kerry and quite different.
The weather is very mixed, but when the sun does come out, the scenery takes on dramatically brilliant colours.

Dingle Stadt:

Dingle town:

The Irish seem to love strong colours. As the Green Island is very often grey, this is quite understandable.

The boats in Dingle harbour are also in line with this colour policy.

We visit a charmingly whimsical  museum in a private house on the roadside. It is full of crying children - Mum is the curator - and fossilized dino eggs.
The parents have presumably travelled the world in the past and collected everything possible: an oil-painting of a heroic battle next to a trumpet in use as a flower-vase and fixed on to an old easel...

We have heard of the dramatic cliffs at Moher, but that there can be crowds of tourists there.
At this time of the year and in not very good weather we have the view of the dark, vertical cliffs to ourselves.
